Founded in 1989 by a small group of passionate and civic-minded Dallas women, AWARE has raised and donated over $12,000,000 so far toward this cause. These dedicated women created A.W.A.R.E. (Alzheimer’s Women’s Association for Resources and Education). Today, men and women of all ages have joined the fight. Today we are AWARE.

The Dallas Foundation is the fiscal sponsor of AWARE, a component fund of The Dallas Foundation, a 501(c)(3) publicly supported charity. In partnership with the Foundation, AWARE conducts an annual grant application review process resulting in the selection of the most exemplary nonprofit organizations working on the front lines in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease in Dallas and the North Texas region. AWARE provides funding and support to these outstanding groups that offer services, programs, education, and resources to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, their families and caregivers, and to organizations doing valuable research to find a prevention and cure.

We have come a long way, but the fight is not over. AWARE continues to expand and broaden our scope, so that what we do to fight Alzheimer’s disease has the most impact for Dallas and surrounding communities in North Texas.

Join AWARE now. Join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Become part of the solution.
